For patients: getting your scan

Do I need a referral?
Yes. X-rays, ultrasounds and bone density scans need a referral from a doctor. If one of our GPs refers you, the referral comes straight to radiology.

How do I book?
Call (07) 2140 4888 once you have your referral. Urgent scans are seen the same day when possible.

Do I need to prepare?
Some scans need preparation, for example some ultrasounds. Reception will tell you what to do when you book.

What should I bring?
Your referral (if it is a paper one), your Medicare card, and any earlier scans of the same area if they were done somewhere else.

How do I get my results?
Results go to the doctor who referred you, usually within 24 hours. Book a follow-up with your doctor, in person or by telehealth, to go through them.

Is it bulk billed?
Scans are bulk billed with a valid Medicare referral. DVA and Workers’ Compensation are accepted.

Common questions

Can I walk in for an X-ray?
Call first so we can check your referral and fit you in.

Do you do pregnancy ultrasounds?
Yes, obstetric ultrasound is one of the scans we offer. Your doctor or midwife will need to refer you.
