Minor Trauma Management

At Gympie’s trusted clinic, we ensure efficient, compassionate, and clinically appropriate treatment:

• Wound assessment & cleaning using sterile technique and aseptic care to prevent infection.
  
  
• Closure of wounds (suturing, glue, or strip closure) when appropriate.
  
  
• Burn and abrasion care, including dressing and advising on healing and infection prevention.
• Sprain, strain, and mild fracture management, including RICE protocol, splinting, and immobilization.
  
  
• Foreign body removal, when safe to do so within a general practice setting.
  
  
• Basic head injury evaluation, for cases without concerning symptoms.
  
• Referral when necessary, for injuries requiring imaging (e.g., possible fractures or embedded foreign material), specialist input, or if red flags are present.
