Dr MD Ashiqur Rahman has recently joined Gympie Day and Evening Clinic, bringing with him a wealth of clinical experience from across the Sunshine Coast region. Before entering general practice, Dr Rahman worked at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Nambour Hospital and Gympie Hospital, completing extensive training in Emergency Medicine, Surgery, General Medicine, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics.
Dr Rahman holds a surgical specialisation, having completed the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. His strong surgical background allows him to perform a variety of minor surgical procedures and provide comprehensive skin checks within the clinic.
He has a particular interest in caring for patients across all age groups, with special enthusiasm for geriatric and paediatric medicine. Dr Rahman values holistic, patient-centred care and is dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of the Gympie community.
Outside of medicine, he is an avid cricket lover and enjoys being an active member of the community he serves.
